Voconiq has been engaged to help deliver the Community Trust in Rural Industries (CTiRI) project. This project is a program of collaborative research to understand the nature of the relationship between Australia’s rural industries and the Australian community. Importantly, this three-year research program demonstrates a commitment by Australia’s rural industries to engage directly with the community to guide industry activities and inform the thinking of their members.

AgriFutures Industries Small

The Community Trust in Rural Industries Program is a jointly funded initiative of AgriFutures Australia, Australian Eggs, Australian Pork Limited, Cotton Research and Development Corporation, Dairy Australia, Fisheries Research and Development Corporation, Sugar Research Australia, Grains Research and Development Corporation, LiveCorp, Meat and Livestock Australia and the NSW Department of Primary Industries. National Farmers’ Federation is also a project partner and AgriFutures Australia is the managing agent.

This report provides a summary of the three-year program of research examining community trust in Australian rural industries. In the 2022 report, we provide multi-year comparisons on key topics and issues related to community trust in and acceptance of rural industries.

Community Trust in Australia's Rural Industries: A national survey 2020

In 2019, AgriFutures Australia engaged Voconiq to bring the voice of the Australian community into Australian rural industries.

This report, available on the project webpage, provides a summary of the national survey results using data collected between the 2nd of December 2019 and 30th of January 2020. This collaborative research is intended to foster understanding of the nature of the relationship between Australia’s rural industries and the Australian community.

CTiRI Project: 12 Month Update

The Community Trust in Rural Industries Project: 12 month update reveals insights into the drivers of community trust and acceptance for the rural industries sector. The results indicate that trust in rural industries is high—Australians believe fishers, farmers and foresters play an important role in society and are a vital part of Australia’s history. However, there are areas of community uncertainty that present risks and opportunities for the sector. The environmental responsibility of Australian rural industries plays a key role in the trust of the Australian community, along with the responsiveness of the industries to community concerns. In addition, the quality and role of the industry's products in Australian lives also drives trust and acceptance of the industry. These key insights are being fed back into the sector as important areas to monitor, maintain, and build upon.
